We obtain your personal information directly from you with your consent and during our interactions with you, including as follows:

  • When you sign up to our newsletter on our website.

  • When you visit our facilities to rent storage units.

  • We also collect personal information that you make public, such as on social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook, X and Instagram.

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH?

We share your personal information with our employees, service providers, or otherwise, in the course of our activities. We limit the information we provide to our service providers to only the information that is reasonably necessary for them to perform their functions. We have contracts with our service providers that specify how they must treat your personal information. Here are the categories of third parties with whom we share your personal information:

  • Our service providers such as our website host, our email management provider, our server backup providers;

  • Our providers for credit and debit card payment management;

  • Marketing partners, such as Google, Facebook, X, LinkedIn.

We may be required to share your personal information with the authorities if we are forced to do so, for example as a result of a court order requiring us to disclose personal information. When we can legally and reasonably inform you of this communication, we will do so.

WHERE DO WE STORE PERSONAL INFORMATION?

STOR-ALL MINI ENTREPÔT INC strives to host your data in Canada, and when possible, in Quebec. We use the tools and servers of Microsoft Canada, which are located in Ontario, as well as other Canadian providers for our backup systems. We also use American suppliers for our management and electronic payment processing software.

 

HOW DO WE PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?

 

We follow generally accepted standards in the industry to protect the personal information that is submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We maintain appropriate physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect personal information from accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, disclosure or unauthorized access, misuse or other unlawful form of processing of personal information in our possession. We have taken reasonable physical, administrative and organizational measures to protect personal information, including:

  • Grant access to personal information on a need-to-know basis;

  • Minimize computer privileges granted to the minimum required for an employee's function; 

  • Establishment of a confidentiality agreement with our employees; 

  • Training for employees on the protection of personal information;

  • Use of technical and operational security measures, such as:

  • Establishment of a backup protocol;

  • Use of firewalls and antivirus software;

  • Strong password policy and use of secure software solutions for access management and sharing;

  • Multifactor authentication (MFA) to connect to cloud platforms;

  • Use of the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol;

  • Periodic review of privacy protection measures.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot ensure or guarantee the security of the information you transmit or provide to us, and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information will not be accessed, obtained, disclosed, modified or destroyed as a result of the breach of our physical, technical or administrative protection measures. In the event of a privacy incident involving your personal information, we undertake to notify you as soon as possible after becoming aware of the incident. We will take reasonable measures to reduce the risks of harm and prevent further incidents of a similar nature from occurring.

 

WHAT RIGHTS DOES A PERSON HAVE REGARDING THEIR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

 

In certain circumstances and in accordance with applicable laws on the protection of personal information, a person has the following rights:

  • Access: the right to ask if we process personal information and, if so, to request access to it. Subject to applicable law and, where appropriate, payment of a monetary amount not exceeding the cost of transcription, reproduction or transmission, a person may thus receive a copy of the personal information we hold and some other information about them;

  • Accuracy: we are required to take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information in our possession is accurate, complete, not misleading and up to date;

  • Rectification: the right to request the rectification of any incomplete or inaccurate personal information that we hold;

  • De-indexing: the right to request that we stop disseminating personal information or de-index any hyperlink attached to their name that gives access to information if this dissemination causes them harm or contravenes the law or a court order (right to erasure or to be forgotten);

If you contact us, we may require additional personal information to validate your identity. If we cannot accept your request, we will inform you of the reason for refusal. If you disagree with our decision, you can contact our Personal Information Protection Officer again, and we will conduct a new review of your request. Alternatively, you can exercise your rights with the Commission d’accèss à l’information, or the authority responsible in your jurisdiction, if you are domiciled outside Quebec.
